Practice Emphasis

Sheri's primary practice area is labor and employment law. Sheri has represented both private and public employers in all aspects of employment law including Title VII (race, gender, sexual harassment, national origin, pregnancy, and retaliation), ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, EPA, Section 1981, Texas Labor Code, Texas workers' compensation retaliation, Texas Pay Day Law, Texas Health & Safety Code, and numerous employment torts (tortious interference with contracts, intentional infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy, defamation, assault and battery). Notably, she assisted in obtaining a defense verdict in federal court for an employer in a case involving age discrimination. She has been involved in getting many employment cases dismissed before reaching the trial stage.

Additionally, Sheri has counseled employer clients on a variety of matters including the development and implementation of employee policies, termination questions, and disciplinary matters. She also has experience in ERISA denial of benefits litigation. Her secondary practice area is commercial litigation.
