Melanie Okon Joins Taber Estes Thorne & Carr

DALLAS -- The Dallas-based law firm of Taber Estes Thorne & Carr PLLC is announcing the addition of Melanie Kemp Okon as a Partner. Ms. Okon represents companies in a wide range of complex civil litigation matters.
Ms. Okon is a commercial litigator with an emphasis on energy-related litigation matters and construction disputes. She has extensive experience representing companies in various types of contested proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and appellate matters. In addition to her experience working in big Dallas law firms, Ms. Okon also served as in-house Senior Litigation Counsel in a Fortune 500 publicly traded energy company. That experience engrained in Ms. Okon the importance of approaching every case with a view toward both efficiency and success.
Ms. Okon earned her undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of Oklahoma. She earned her law degree magna cum laude from Baylor University School of Law, where she was the highest ranking student in her graduating class and served as Assistant Managing Editor of the Baylor Law Review. Following graduation, Ms. Okon served as a briefing attorney for the Texas Supreme Court in the chambers of the Honorable Greg Abbott.
